High carbon silicon is also called furnace bottom silicon, HC ferrosilicon, silicon-carbon alloy. It is a by-product of metal silicon production.
The main chemical components of high carbon silicon are silicon and carbon. The silicon content is between 40 % and 70 %. The carbon content is between 10 % and 25 %. Other contents are: silica, phosphorus, sulfur, etc.
High carbon silicon specifications:

67% | 23% | 2.50% | 0.05% | 0.05% |
Packing : One ton in common bag . One ton in bottom discharge bag , or as the customer’s requirement .
High carbon silicon uses:
1.In the steel industry, high-carbon silicon can be used instead of ferro silicon as a deoxidizer
The physical and chemical properties of high carbon silicon are stable. And the deoxidation effect is good. If used in the converter steelmaking process, it can react quickly with oxygen in molten steel to form steel slag floating on the surface of molten steel. In this way, the purpose of deoxidation can be achieved. High carbon silicon also has certain deoxidizing and carburizing effects. Therefore, it can replace part of the carburizer, thus greatly reducing the cost of steelmaking.
2.In the casting industry, high-carbon silicon can be used instead of ferrosilicon and carbon additive
The most abundant components of high-carbon silicon are carbon and silicon. The use of high-carbon silicon as a deoxidizer, a high-efficiency heater (Si&C:6.58kcal/g, 1.24kcal/g) and a carburizer in the cast iron process can effectively control the input of other components and produce few impurities.
